MRI Registry
Hi I am studying for my MRI registry. This is my third attempt so i have to pass it my job is on the line I made a 74 last time and have got to pass this time. I have been studying MRI in Practice book but was wondering if anyone on this thread have any practice test questions or any information that i could study more by. I saw some people say they could email helpful hints etc. so i wanted to see if anyone had anything they could send me that helped when studying for this. I am in desperate need to pass this time. My email address is Traciem218@gmail.com
Thanks in advance!

k space explanation
dear all,
I am trying to get a feel for what k-space is. So far I have not got an explanation that I understand. My idea to picture the frequencies that get emmitted from a slice as follows: - We have a box filled with still waterrn - a set of objects get dropped into the water simultaneously - every object emmits waves that are specific to its shape. To fill k space, what is measured and how? All I know is that the sampling frequency stays the same. Sorry for the ugly formatting. Did not find help on that. Thanks Martin

PCMRI
Hi everybody

I am curious to understand a bit better what the formula that it is used in PCMRI for relating the change of phase and the velocity assume ...

As far I have unterstand that it is assumed the phase of a moving particle can be measured at two time instants, i am right? Does this not assume we can "track" the particle? Does this not "contradict" the fact that we can only compare phases that we measure at the same fixed place?

Thanks,

C.

Fractional Anisotropy
Hi,
I have been trying to mathematically derive the formula to find FRACTIONAL ANISOTROPYrn(Fractional anisotropy is a method that is used to emphasize and evaluate white matter fiber tracts)

The formula that is given in many textbooks and published paper

FA= Squareroot(3/2) * (Sqaureroot[ (lambda1-lambda)^2 + (lambda2-lambda)^2 + (lambda3-lambda)^2]/ Sqaureroot( Lambda1^2+Lambda2^2+Lambda3^2))

I understand the purpose of Lambda but unable to understand the need for SQUAREROOT (3/2)rnrnPlease do kindly explain the reason behind having SQUAREROOT(3/2) for the Fractional Anisotropy formula

What am I looking at?
My wife has had severe back pain for months and the insurance finally allowed us to get an MRI. Can anyone tell me what we are looking at here? and maybe a guess at a diagnosis? Our doctor is on vacation and we won't have an answer for about another week. http://imgur.com/a/spxfp Thank you in advance!
