MRI terminology need clarification
Hi,

This is a very wonderful site and I have learned alot from your definition database. I do have a question with some of the terminologies that I cannot find in your database, here are the ones:

What is:

Alpha pulse?
Inversion Pulse?
z-gradient pulse?
positive x-gradient pulse?
negative x-gradient pulse?
phase encoding pulse?
Refocusing gradient pulse?

Can you please help me know what there terms meant?

Many Thanks!

Go onto LuLu.com You can have them print this book for you for 75.00. It takes 3 to 5 business days for them to print it. Hope this helps.

The information in the MIC 2005 is out of date and should NOT be used. This will NOT help you pass the registry. Pay the money and get the latest version.

Writing the MRI Exam in Canada
Does anyone have experience writing the MRI Exam in Canada? I have a friend in the U.S. who is an MRI tech. He passed the exam with high marks in the U.S., but he can not pass the CAMRT exam in Canada. He has trouble with the multiple choice questions that the exam format is in. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions as to what he can do? Thanks.

I think there are different regulations from state to state and depending on your certification. This is not a new discussion here. Search e.g. for following threads: ARMRIT to ARRT pathway - Can anyone answer my question - ARMRIT Parenteral Procedures
