SPAIR movement artefact |
Dear all,
When scanning wrists in our Avanto MR always the penultimate slice in the transversal series shows a movement artefact. This happens with all patients and always the penultimate slice. We found out that using regular fat saturation this does not occur, with SPAIR (which is preferable because of the frequent susceptibility artefacts in arms/wrists) however it happens all the time. The simple solution for our radiology staff is to use normal fat saturation instead of SPAIR, however we are intriged by this problem and were hoping that anyone also experienced this problem and maybe found an explanation.
Because it happens in only 1 slice we are suspecting some kind of interference of the slice selection pulse with the SPAIR pre-pulses.
Any input is appreciated,
thanks in advance, Matthijs

Neuro vascular array does not perform DWI |
We recently had an software upgrade to our GE 1.5T Echospeed. The diffusion weighted imaging stopped working when using the neuro vascular array. Has any one else experienced this problem? What was done to correct the problem?

Hi Steve....I would like to apply for this position. I am an MRI Technologist for the past 2 years, BLS certified, and IV access certified. I have Siemens open magnet experience, but I am interested learning a new magnet. Please email me information regarding about this position at gee_cast@sbcglobal.net
Thanks

Mobile MRI - Keeping Magnet Cold |
Hi
Majority of mobile MRI scanners got onboard generators.
Once you plug off scanner from main external pawer onboard generator will start automaticly.
It keeps chiler running during the transport.
Onboard generator alows you switch on the system , but I wouldn't scan using onboard generator. This is just to keep running system when power supply failure.

Mobile MRI - Keeping Magnet Cold |
Will,
When a mobile MRI Scanner is in motion going from site to site a "ramp down" is performed before moving. This is when the magnetic field is lowered but not completely shut off. The field still keeps it's integrity due to the Cryogens that surround it. When it comes to the new site, a "ramp up" is performed to bring the magnetic strength back up to par. Bottom line...The Cryogens are not boiled off and keep the magnet cold when it is motion. If the magnet were to suddenly lose it's power, it could be due to a cryogen boil off.
