Which MRI machine to buy? |
Hi Mike,
Is this your first MRI scanner purchase? I would recommend GE over Hitachi because it is more universal and it will be easier (and less expensive) to get service and refurbished parts. When you say high field do you mean 3.0? Since those are so costly, a 1.5T will give you the best value. That's what we currently use and with the right coils we obtain high quality images.
Hope that helps,
Sandra

flow arifact |
Hi Everyone,
I had experienced flow artifact while taking Axial images of a wrist on 1.5T Siemens MRI scanner. I was using a presaturation band to block the arterial blood flow but it was not making any difference and the artifact was still there.
The phase direction was A-P, and the artifact was in this direction.
Please help me to get rid of this artifact.
Neeta

Andre,
You can do a PD sagittal and/or T1 coronal. These two would give you meniscii tears, just magnify them and brighten the image to show the tear. You can also try the T2 STIR coronal to show some swelling and bone contusion. Check with your rad to find out proper protocols.

Well as technologists we don't read images. To ensure that you are doing the proper scans, you need to check with the rads that are actually reading the images. I would call and find out which protocols you need to do from them.
