MRI registry equations
Hi i saw your post to this forum and i am studying for the MRI registry as well. I have taken it twice and scored a 74 last time. This is my final attempt and i saw threads with people sharing info and study guides. I wasn't sure how to post to the main forum but if you could repost this to the main forum that would be appreciated so much. if anyone can email any information or study test etc. I am so nervous being my third attempt and ive been out of school so long lol My job is on the line if I dont pass. Ive been studying MRI in Practice hopefully that will help but I just wanted to leave my email address traciem218@gmail.com if anyone has any study hints ect. please send them Im in desperate need to pass this. I hope yours went well if you've taken it yet. Thanks in advance for any infornTraciern

k space explanation
dear all,
I am trying to get a feel for what k-space is. So far I have not got an explanation that I understand. My idea to picture the frequencies that get emmitted from a slice as follows: - We have a box filled with still waterrn - a set of objects get dropped into the water simultaneously - every object emmits waves that are specific to its shape. To fill k space, what is measured and how? All I know is that the sampling frequency stays the same. Sorry for the ugly formatting. Did not find help on that. Thanks Martin

Need to quench a scanner now
HellornrnI have on old Oxford 4.7 T scanner that has been working since 2011. Unfortunately these last few days we could not transfer He in. Although our He liquefier is completely full and the transfer line is connect to the magnet, no He is transferred. The transfer line has been made vacuo efficient two months ago and should be ok. rnrnIt seems that we need to quench the magnet. We don't have any external power supply to connect to the magnet and retrieve the current. rnrnWhat can we do? Is there any safety measures? Can we leave the magnet as it is? Should we evacuate the building? Should we isolate the area? rnrnThank you ever so much for your time and help. rnrnI have contacted Oxford several times but they didn't return my emails. rnrnMany thanksrnrnEdrnrn

What am I looking at?
My wife has had severe back pain for months and the insurance finally allowed us to get an MRI. Can anyone tell me what we are looking at here? and maybe a guess at a diagnosis? Our doctor is on vacation and we won't have an answer for about another week. http://imgur.com/a/spxfp Thank you in advance!

Tirm dark fluid, fat signal.
Hi!
On our 3 T siemens machine the protocol tirm dark fluid is often used in neuro.
My question is, why does fat have low signal? Isn't supposed to be only fluid supressed?

Thanks in advance!
