MRI Pulse Sequence Design
Hi
I am a student in Medphysics track and am deeply intrested in MRI pulse sequence design . I wanted to know if someone could comment about taking MRI sequence design as a career and what is the scope of the research in future. Would the designers be dispensible if once the desired requirements are met ?
Thanking you

Faster pulse sequences
Hi,
I have been learning about faster MRI sequences and have two questions

1) With "Fast (Turbo) gradient echo", in which we apply a spoiler gradient, do we not eventually end up with no longitudinal magnetization because TR is always shorter than T1? Hence shouldn't we eventually get no signal at all?

2) in SSFP (Steady-state free precession) we can apply an RF pulse of 90 degrees (in which T1>>T2) to get heart-blood contrast. How is this any different to a standard spin-echo sequence in terms of timing?

Thank you

Best pulse sequences for spinal cord demyelination?
Hi all. I wonder if you can help? A friend has asked me to recommend the best protocols to detect demyelination. She is about to pay a fortune for a private 3T scan and doesn't want to waste her money. Problem is, although I know a fair bit about the brain, I know next to nothing about the spinal cord! I understand that FLAIR is not optimal in the spinal cord, but I'm getting mixed messages about what is from my reading. Is it FSE?! Any advice really gratefully received! Thanks :-)

Drawing MRI sequence
Does anyone know of existing LaTeX macros or packages or any other software for drawing Magnetic Resonance Imaging pulse sequences?
I didn't find anything online. Thank you so much for your help!

new job in MRI
Hello, I have happily accepted a job working in MRI and CT having worked in just CT. I have a few months until I start and was wondering if anyone could recommend a few good books regarding basic physics and pulse sequences to get me started :) I will be working in a hospital with alot of cardiac work using seimans MRI scanners many thanks, Rob :)
