Stents |
Employer relates that any cardiac stent implanted after 2008 is safe on ANY MRI scanner within our system. This ranges from 0.3 Open scanners to 1.2 High field Open and 1.5 and 3T closed systems.
Contrarily, the manufacturer data on certain stents states 1.5 or 3 T ONLY, but we are urged to scan on an open if implanted after 2008. Does anyone have any type of testing documentation that this is safe? I'm not so much worried about the field strength as I am the magnetic field orientation as the defining safety issue.

Need to quench a scanner now |
HellornrnI have on old Oxford 4.7 T scanner that has been working since 2011. Unfortunately these last few days we could not transfer He in. Although our He liquefier is completely full and the transfer line is connect to the magnet, no He is transferred. The transfer line has been made vacuo efficient two months ago and should be ok. rnrnIt seems that we need to quench the magnet. We don't have any external power supply to connect to the magnet and retrieve the current. rnrnWhat can we do? Is there any safety measures? Can we leave the magnet as it is? Should we evacuate the building? Should we isolate the area? rnrnThank you ever so much for your time and help. rnrnI have contacted Oxford several times but they didn't return my emails. rnrnMany thanksrnrnEdrnrn

Crash cart requirements for contrast |
We are an outpatient surgical center with an MRI department and on-site physicians and we frequently have contrasted exams. What are the MRI department-specific requirements for the crash cart? We currently have a fully loaded crash cart that is honestly stocked with a lot of medications we would never administer even during a reaction. So in an effort to cut restocking costs, what are we REQUIRED to have on hand? And which organization would govern that? (The ACR white paper on MRI safety doesn't seem to cover this topic.)

Titanium & MRI Safety |
Titanium is not, NOT under any, ANY circumstances considered MR SAFE. Titanium is MR CONDITIONAL. When the conditions are observed titanium causes no harm to the patient or the MR equipment.
When the conditions are not observed the concerns you voiced may come into effect.
