Scan Percentage

This sequence parameter affects the image resolution and the SNR. By reducing the scan percentage, the resolution decreases and the signal increases.

(SCT) The total scan time is the time required to collect all data needed to generate the programmed images. The scan time is related to the used pulse sequence and dependent on the assemble of parameters like e.g., repetition time (TR), Matrix, number of signal averages (NSA), TSE- or EPI factor and flip angle.
For example, the total scan time for a standard spin echo or gradient echo sequence is number of repetitions x the scan time per repetition (means the product of repetition time (TR), number of phase encoding steps, and NSA).

See also Number of Excitations, Turbo Spin Echo Turbo Factor, Echo Planar Imaging Factor, Flip Angle and Image Acquisition Time.

See also acronyms for 'scan time parameters' from different manufacturers.

Schering Alman, was a subsidiary of Schering AG, a local distributor of contrast media and pharmaceutical's in Turkey.
In June 2006 Bayer AG has bought the majority of shares of Schering AG. As a result of this take-over Schering AG has been renamed in December 2006 in Bayer Schering Pharma AG.

Segmented HASTE

A variation of the (Half Fourier Acquisition Single Shot Turbo Spin Echo) HASTE sequence, whereat half of the image information is acquired after the first excitation pulse, and the half after the second excitation pulse. The acquired data are then interleaved into the raw data matrix. A long time to repetition (TR) is selected to allow the spin system to recover between excitation pulses and the dead time is used for additional slices. The length of the echo train is cut in half. Also more than 2 segments are possible.
