Frequency Encoding Gradient

(Gf) A frequency encoding gradient produces a magnetic gradient field present during MR signal acquisition to encode signals into different frequencies, depending on their position toward the gradient.
Also called readout gradient.

Radio Frequency Transmitter

In MRI systems the radio frequency (RF) transmitter produces the RF current (oscillator) and delivers it to the transmitting coil (antenna). The RF signal produced by the transmitter is used to excite the protons in the imaging volume.

Artifact Information
DESCRIPTION
Static on the image
REASON
Electromagnetic emissions
HELP
Shielding, eliminate the factor of disturbance
RF noise, which often appears as static on the image, can be caused by a medical device located anywhere in the MR procedure room. RF noise is a result of excessive electromagnetic emissions from the device that interference with the proper operation of the MR scanner. The interference is attenuated and aliased in the frequency direction.

Image Guidance
In the first case try to eliminate the factor of disturbance, if the problem persists screen the magnet- and room shielding.

Adiabatic Radio Frequency Pulses

Adiabatic RF pulses are amplitude and frequency modulated pulses that are insensitive to the effects of B1-inhomogeneity and frequency offset (conventional RF pulses used in MRI are only amplitude modulated). Due to an extended application time adiabatic RF pulses are mostly used in NMR imaging applications.
