High Field Open MRI systems/Spatial Gradient limits |
Anyone out there operating a Philips HFO or Hitachi Oasis? If so how is your facility handling the new FDA labeling of MR "conditional" limits of certain implants(stents, shunts, etc..) and the Higher Spatial Gradient Forces that these machines have? thanks.

6-1.5T MAGNETS, DIFFERING GRADIENTS |
What parameter, if any, can compensate between magnets of equal field strength but very different gradient strengths? A T2 FAT sequence on one magnet can look very different on another magnet using same parameters.

Gradient modes |
Does changing the gradient mode from "fast" to "whisper" have an effect on the image quality? I just did a PD FS on a knee and compared two sequences that were exactly the same except for one was "fast" and the other was "whisper", which also changed the TR and TE very slightly (TR from 1970 - 2100 and TE from 29 - 31). The whisper sequence was noticeably lower quality and I can't figure out why.

Is the gradient preemphasis still used in the up-to-date MRI scanner equipped with the shielded gradient coil? Does the preemphasis become unnecessary in the future, or is it continued to be used?
