The system is simple to use, but d@mn helpful. It comes with instructions, and even then I can be a bit thick, so I've called for help with the stereo bit. They didn't mind helping me out over the phone, and when we found the problem I realized how little I use technology outside of my field.rnrn The install took about an hour and a half, but the engineer for our building said it was easy - and that didn't cut too bad into scan time. We just made sure it was a slow day when we decided to install. rnrn We went through this company: SoundImaging.com We had used them for upgrades and parts before, so we knew who we were talking to and that we could trust the equipment.

I met a question and need help. Who may tell me the principle of LAVA and LAVA-XV. How can we calculate the scan time? It seems the FOV doesn't bother scantime. So what determine it? Why we have to use big FOV in LAVA, but can shrink FOV in LAVA XV. Thank you in advance

T2* is fine to scan the intervertebral discs. T2 is the better choice to show small spinal cord lesions like MS plaques. The echo time of a T2* sequence may be not long enough to give a good differentiation between the pathology and surrounding tissue.rnDifferent 'Multi Echo Data Image Combination' (MEDIC) techniques have been developed to enhance contrast and pathology detection, if available on the scanner this type of sequence is maybe also a good choice, but due to longer scan times and artifact problems it is best for axial slices.rn

Easy!!! If you have been working in the field for a while and use the MIC, MRI in practice and any other review book you are set. I had like only 2 math problems and even those were both calculating scan time. Tons of anatomy and the rest dealt with GRE sequences (steady state, spoilers etc) Maybe I was lucky and got the less difficult test but if you are about to take it, don't freak out.

Here's the question:
The approximate scan time of a rapid spin echo sequence with a TR of 3500ms, a TE of 90ms, a 256x256 matrix, 1 exicitation, a 220mm FOV and an echo train length of 5 is______ minutes.
Formal they give is 3500msx1x256/5=?
a.3
b. 8
c. 11
d. 15
I get 179200. What am I missing in my studies and the math?
