| I Just got my first MRI |
I got an MRI earlier tonight of my head. I had to squeeze the alarm to be pulled out of it on a particular 4 minute scan. I thought it was anxiety at first but upon trying again the second time I have deduced that it in fact was electro conductivity that was messing with my heart. I was getting a heart rate of 160-180 I would estimate and heart palpitations and very hard beating in my chest. I managed to avoid the panic attack the second time so it was manageable but it did not feel safe. Can anyone explain to me what is going on here? It was very uncomfortable, and I was also feeling muscle twitching in my lower back which apparently the tech told me was common.
TL;DR I had an MRI, and it gave me heart palps and tachycardia. What is going on here? Is this normal?

I Have had chronic migraines and vertigo for about the last 15 years of my life. It has progressively gotten worse over the years and my doctors have not found any solid reason to give me for these symptoms. I have even been hospitalised several times from completely passing out when my dizziness and headache got very intense. Recently in the last couple of months, I have had pains in the back of my neck added to the symptoms I already have so I went to get an MRI for my head and neck. My doctors say the head look fine and that the problem I have been having is from my nose. My symptoms are very severe and there has to be more to this than just that so I am turning to the internet to seek a second opinion. If there is any further insight you can provide me about my scans it will be most helpful. if you can help please email me and i can send you more scan information

I am a newer MRI tech and do well using a butterfly for injections but haven't had any training on starting IVs. Our radiologists want a 25 second post scan on liver exams. Does anyone have any ways to accomplish this using a butterfly?

Well first of all, it will probably be difficult to find a job regardless of which license/certification you have. There's just not too many positions available. Secondly, most hospitals that I've come across don't hire ARMRIT techs for some reason, so it will be hard to get work in a hospital. Some imaging facilities also only hire ARRT techs. It's not impossible to get a job especially of you're willing to relocate somewhere outside of Southern California. If you really want to work at a hospital here, you can try to convince whoever is in charge of hiring to consider the benefits of hiring an ARMRIT tech. I spoke with the president of ARMRIT, James Coffin, and he told me there are a few ARMRIT techs working at hospitals. If that's true then at least there's no laws banning ARMRIT from hospitals. It's just up to us to show them we're worth hiring.
