Deaf MRI technicians? |
Hi! Working as an MRI Technologist requires a lot of talking to the patient. You must screen the patients yourself, talk to them in between pulse sequences to ensure they are doing alright, and during breath hold exams. There is a huge safety factor with MRI with keeping certain metals away from the magnet so screening each and every person is a huge factor with being a MRI Technologist. As a MRI Technologist for a mobile company i speak with a radiologist that works at another facility for protocols and questions regarding exams and ensuring we get everything the patient and ordering doctor needs. If you have a MRI school in your area i would email or call them to see if any accomodations could be made, but i know from working mobile and at surrounding hospitals in this state and nearby states i live in, you would need to speak to the patient.

What are the best sequences for evaluating of the female pelvis. Regarding that I am doing a research on the role of DWI in characterization of female pelvic masses. Our machine is a Hitachi Airis Avento. I did not find the b value, however a diffusion button is there. rn

Hyperintense blood vessels in SE |
Prolonged T1 relaxation times, decreased T1 tissue contrast, and increased susceptibility rnare typical effects at high field MRI.rnDue to the longer T1 times at 3T, the signal rnintensity inside the vessels is preserved even in smaller vessels. Try TR 700, TE 10.rnInversion recovery sequences are very well suited for optimal gray to white matter contrast, but enhancement after administration of gadolinium may not be visible.

Siemens CINE Sequence details |
Hello there fellow NMR enthusiasts, I have a question regarding the CINE-Sequence that a Siemens 3 T scanner does, in particular I am interested in the retro iPAT sequence. What I want to know is what the exact parameters are.
For example, I have set a TR of 2.7 ms, but the actual recording time of one scan is close to 300 ms. Why is that? What else gets added to this time?
If anyone has links to useful information about sequences, then I am more than happy to check them out.
Regards, Glad

Best pulse sequences for spinal cord demyelination? |
Small spinal cord lesions, even if clinically significant, can be due to the low sensitivity of some pulse sequences. Demyelinating lesions are better seen on STIR-FSE images, on which the number of lesions are significantly higher than on FSE, while the FSE and CSE images show approximately equal numbers of lesions. So as STIR-FSE has high sensitivity to demyelinating lesions,it can be considered quite specific and should be included in spinal MRI for assessment of suspected demyelinating disease.
