History behind the pain? Trauma? Where is it located? Typically Sagittal imaging is preferred to diagnose spinal problems.

Hello. I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if I can share MRI images for a professional's opinion here. If not here, I'd like to know whether there is a forum for this. rnrnI have been having serious vertigo issues (intense spinning) for weeks. Although it has improved dramatically and still is in terms of the nausea and the vertigo attacks, I'm still experiencing regular dizziness, and looking sideways and driving is a bit tricky. I suspected it could have something to do with the inner or middle ear, so I had a brain MRI and made sure to ask for analysis of the inner and middle ear and any associated nerves. When I picked up my MRI results today, all that showed as abnormal was the sinuses with cyst in the right sphenoid sinus. To make sure the middle and inner ear were analyzed I asked the desk woman. She didn't know, made some calls and found out they apparently were not analyzed. rnrnI got the CD, retrieved my ancient PC laptop that is turtle slow and tried to check for images. Don' t know what to check for and having difficulty navigating. The images are divided into T1 TSE Ax, T2 FS AX, T2 AX SPACE IA, FLAIR COR, 2 image fors DIFF AX (ANGLE, and mIP images. I'm specifically trying to rule out conditions that sounded a lot like what I'm experiencing: labyrinthitis and vestibular neuritis. Thank you.

I'm new to MRI imaging and currently taking an introductory course online. I understand that the introduction of a small magnetic field/RF pulses on top of the static magnetic field (B0) excites protons into a high energy state (B1). Does this mean that the protons are excited from a spin that is parallel to the longitudinal B0 plane to one that is antiparallel to the longitudinal B0 plane, or that the proton spin is excited from one that is aligned/polarized with B0 to one that is either parallel or antiparallel to B0 in the B1/xy plane?

you ask a complex question. Any sequence that is not a standard spin echo can benefit from shimming, but its not always worth it.
If you are scanning a knee in the center of the magnet, or nearly so, you might not see much difference in gradient echo scans, which in general are quite sensitive to shim problems. But if you are doing fat-water separation or fatsat images, you will see a difference even in this example.
Because hardware varies, its hard to say in one blanket statement for every case. For sure, do it on fatsat or fat-water imaging. The next most sensitive studies are off-center imaging such as shoulders. Beyond that, you should experiment a little. Of course, erring on the side of caution is a good idea.

In need of a protocol for the prostate. Our system is a 1.5 GE Signa Excite 12.0 software.
Under the diffusion options screen the only B-value options are 1000,1500, and 2000.
Should Dual Spin Echo option be selected ?
Main question relates to post processing of the DWI to ADC. Under Functool, what is a good threshold # to choose ?
