Need to quench a scanner now
HellornrnI have on old Oxford 4.7 T scanner that has been working since 2011. Unfortunately these last few days we could not transfer He in. Although our He liquefier is completely full and the transfer line is connect to the magnet, no He is transferred. The transfer line has been made vacuo efficient two months ago and should be ok. rnrnIt seems that we need to quench the magnet. We don't have any external power supply to connect to the magnet and retrieve the current. rnrnWhat can we do? Is there any safety measures? Can we leave the magnet as it is? Should we evacuate the building? Should we isolate the area? rnrnThank you ever so much for your time and help. rnrnI have contacted Oxford several times but they didn't return my emails. rnrnMany thanksrnrnEdrnrn

is this kind of zebra artifact?
Looks more like a Zipper artifact. Can be caused by electronic noise. Switch off all light bulbs, remove all electronic equipment from the scanner room, make sure that the door is really closed (clean the contacts between door and jam if necessary) and try again. If the artifact consists control the penetration panel where the cables enter the room and the faraday cage, it is possible that there is a leak in the RF shield. If the artifact remains with all coils and sequences you need the service to repair the problem.

ARMRIT to ARRT pathway - - - HELP
You can sit for the Exam, (this is kind of a new rule). Once you pass the ARRT exam, apply for your state license. In NY, you can apply for license to inject contrast materials at the same time or after you have a state license, but you have to document RN has trained and comped you and MD signs off that you are competent.

The first step is to contact the ARRT. Just go on line google ARRT and seach MRI exam content specs, review the content specs for the exam and start studying!! Good Luck.
