fmri, block design: length of "On" and "Off" periodes ?
Hello,
I'm planning some fmri research and I wonder why often the blocks of stimulation and nothing (or called base level or resting state) have the same length

If I let -maybe- a flickering checkerboard about 16 seconds on, as my "ON" period... then I should not need further 16 seconds resting state? DO I?

The BOLD-related effects should be away after about 2 seconds?

Thanks
Rudolfo

fMRI frequency range
Hi,

I am trying to decompose the original fMRI time series into several components with different frequency ranges. I use the MODWT wavelet analysis. To obtain the components' frequencies, I need to know the frequency range of the original fMRI signal. Is it 0-1/TR?

Thanks a lot.

Skills needed to become an MRI-technician
The role MRI technician is very important as they have to operate and monitor diagnostic imaging equipments. This need special skill set. They need to be very sensitive to the patient, their stamina should be extremely high and they should be very crisp and careful in handling the instruments. More information about this can be obtained in following site. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos105.htm

Building 3d Volumes from MRI DICOM
I have a number of MRI and CTs since a bad accident. I am a Mechanical Engineer with an electrical, power and computer background.

I was able to render the CT to 3D using Onis (not sure if you've seen this program), but have been unable to manage it with any of the MRIs.

The MRIs were taken on a Phillips Intera 1.5T

I can render a volume but only (1) of the (3) 2D images are clear before it is rendered and the resulting 3D image is just noise. I've tried various software packages and spent a lot of time with the software. Perhaps I don't have the required image files.

Maybe someone knows the answer.

Thanks,

Bob

I have family history, maternal side and dense breast, thus the MRI.

I was offered 1) Siemens MAGNETOM Espree 1.5T

2) The Aurora® 1.5T Dedicated Breast MRI System with Bilateral 3-D SpiralRODEO™

3) Phyllips 3T Breast MRI

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!!! Which one and WHY?
